Hurricane Katrina slammed into the Louisiana Coastline on August 29, 2005 with wind gusts in excess of 175 mph. Several days after the storm, Brian O'Malley joined a team of experts that was assembled to evaluate/advise the State of Louisiana and it's surrounding Parish's on hurricane damage Technical Advice, Mr. O'Malley served the State of Louisiana until 2009 as the Senior Technical Advisor for the Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness.

VR Management Group, Ltd was formed in 2009 with Mr. O'Malley as the Project Principal. His valuable knowledge about the effects of hurricanes on buildings/infrastructure affords our firm the unique ability of offering clients a proven track record in Disaster Technical Services that could have never be learned otherwise.

Since that time, VR Management Ltd has offered hurricane analysis and design consulting services to numerous governmental, institutional, commercial, and private agencies. These services include:

1. Assessment of buildings for potential hurricane damage.
2. Recommendation of strengthening means to harden existing buildings.
3. Evaluation of buildings that have sustained high wind damage.
4. Design of new buildings to resist wind forces up to Category 5 storms and higher.
5. Design of new hurricane shelters or "enhanced hurricane protection areas."
6. Design of new emergency operation centers (EOC).
7. Informative presentations to agencies involved in public safety.
